Great book, well laid out, easy to follow . . . but NO ANSWER KEY!!? There are model problems with answers but only for about 15% of the questions. The majority of the questions are left to the reader to verify; ridiculous imo. Modern math books have answer keys, sorry, that's a deal breaker.
Excellent book on algebra. Bought it because it was the algebra book I used back in highschool in 1980's. I think it's introductory chapter on symbols is important for students to grasp in a world that is computerized. I'm a computer/graphics chip engineer. Take it a step at a time and go back over earlier chapters if you're not understanding the chapter you're in.If you're student is a real thinker, get them also "Realm of Algebra" by Isaac Asimov to spark their interest and imagination in the possibilities and meanings of mathematics.
This was a great deal. The book was advertised in slightly used condition, and that is what it was. Still, this is a great book and great resource of algebra problems for the high school (and some community college) classes that I teach. Every algebra teacher should have this book in their personal library.
