Cute but the sliding pages aren't the best design. They stick and become annoying quickly. I bought this as a stocking stuffer for my 3 year old son who loves trains. I'm hesitant to give it to him now because I'm dreading the fits he's gonna throw when he can't get the pages to work.
I already wrote a review on this product but am still unable to edit: mentioned a slight problem but the seller contacted me instantly and made it right. I would recommend both this book and seller without reservation. Great companion to the Crews FREIGHT TRAIN book. Tells, often with interactive graphics, what's actually inside each train car.
Sweetest book. The train cars pull open to reveal their contents. After reading one at my friend’s house, I had to purchase one for myself....No, I don’t have grandchildren (yet). Did not want it to go out of print.
This is our third copy of this book. The grandchildren love it to death, literally. They are excited to see the kinds of things that are inside the trains we wait for at train crossings. Heavier duty than most pop-up style books. My copies have lasted an average of 5 years each of not-so-tender toddler love.
I originally bought this book at a train museum for my son. He loves that he can pull the book apart to see the insides of many of the train cars. Very cute concept. As some have commented, some of the sliders can come a apart (only one did for us--and actually I haven't fixed it yet because it really doesn't fall all apart...but I suppose I should fix eventually for overall longevity) but it's pretty easy to fix with just a dab of glue. (But I knocked it down a star for that.) However, I still would recommend it...especially is you're looking for an inexpensive train-themed gift that's a bit unique. In fact I bought a second one for a co-worker present.
Concept is interesting. The pages slide out from the center to reveal car content, but are difficult for little ones to manage. The story is preschool aged appropriate but the skill to manage sliding the pages is not obtained at same age.
This book is extremely cute. Each page of the board book plays a peek-a-boo game with what's on the inside of each train car. My nephew adores trains, and I can't wait to give him this book for Christmas.When I opened the book I noticed that some of the pages are hard to pull apart, which could result in "overpulling" by my 3 year old nephew. I've tried opening and shutting some of the pages so that they'll be "ready" when he gets it for Christmas :)This is a very unique type of board book that I find wonderful for the little ones.
I wish it was an open and flap book instead of a pull out book. It's hard for my LO to pull out the pages.
