It's how the oil business really works, including an historical perspective, and the greed that inevitably tears families apart. Well written with good timing of events. Little details provide real incite into the hearts of the characters. Very enjoyable, despite the ending of a family split apart by too much money.
Wildcatters is a great story, even for those unfamiliar with the oil business. And it's well told by the author, who writes in a plain and effective style. You won't be able to put the book down once you start.

Greed can destroy. This is why "Thy shall not covet" is a commandment. This book is well written, informative and proves that money, greed and lust is a motivator, even for the wrong reasons. My congratulations to Mr. Charlie Moncrief of Fort Worth, Texas for sharing this story and for being a man of conviction.
As a Texas lawyer I loved to read all the legal maneuvering surrounding this fight. It's clearly a one-sided version of the events, but it is a great read.
